Alexander O'neal first came to notice in 1985 with the release of his first album on Tabu records and went on to have major success with many more albums right up to the present day. Before his debut album for Tabu records he released several singles on small local labels in the Chicago area during the early 1980s and this is one of them.

Infact according to an interview with him in 1985 this was his first record released in 1982 on Erect records called "Do you dare" although for this release he just called himself Alexander.
